Common Misconception Regarding Hair

It’s normal going to a salon for treatment of hair fall, styling and asking your stylist about cures and tips. But there are few facts that you should know. I am sure you love your hair as much as I love mine. But are you one of those person who make your hair suffer because of lack of proper facts?

  1. One of most common worries among women regarding their hair is growth of hair. One misconception about hair growth is that the more we brush our hair, the more will be hair growth. Let me clear this misconception. This is a myth, your hair growth have nothing to do with the way you comb your hair or the time limit up to which you brush you hair. The truth is, if you brush your hair for a longer time period, hair fall will become a common problem for you. Your hair will become weak and tends to fall.
  2. Another misconception about hair is that the hair shampoo results in decrease in oil from the scalp. This is totally wrong approach. However it is true that shampoo cleans the scalp but not oil from scalp. So never use hair shampoo in the large extent, it will result in hair fall and will damage your hair permanently. Always choose your product wisely. While choosing a shampoo you must see the contents of shampoo. Try using herbal shampoo (in which chemical content is less) rather than the one that contains so many chemicals.
  3. Many people believe that Hair products will solve the problem of split ends. This is another myth. The main cause of split hair is not regular use of hair oil and not regular cleaning of hair. The one way to avoid split end is regular trimming of hair.
  4. Many people believe that the grey hair can be covered using permanent hair colors. Friends, if you believe that too , I am sorry to say that you are wrong.
  5. If you are believer that your hair will always have same texture i.e. if you are born with curly hair, you will always have curly hair. You are wrong, with passage of time, it may change.
  6. Our hair is made of protein. In order to maintain healthy hair, we need shampoo that contains protein. It is required for healthy and long hair. But overuse of these shampoo will result in loss of hair. Hair fall is common, if you use them regularly. However if you have oily hair, you may use them 3 or 4 days per week.
  7. The next misconception that I am going to tell is most common of all. It is believed that trimming helps in increasing hair at the fast rate.  Our hair grow by 0.5 inches every month and trimming has nothing to do with it.
  8. Good shampoo helps in increasing your hair. No, this is not true. With increase in age, the rate of increase of hair decreasing. In order to increase growth rate of hair, we need to eat diet containing protein and need to do exercise. Shampoo can’t affect the natural process of hair growth.
